Delegate key student management functions to other departments, partners, or end customers by designating Student Managers from your list of students. Student Managers can add new students to your academy and enroll a Group of existing students in content, all using their existing academy login, providing a better branded experience and minimizing the number of users with access to your Skilljar dashboard. Create a Student Manager
This section of the article discusses how Skilljar dashboard admins create and edit Student Managers. If you are a Student Manager, see the next section for details.
To create a new Student Manager, open your Skilljar dashboard and follow these steps:
- Select Students from the left-hand navigation to open the Students page.
- Select the student you would like to grant Student Manager access.
- In the Admin Actions menu, select Grant Student Manager Access.

Select the Group you want the Student Manager to be able to manage.
- The Student Manager will be able to enroll students in this group into selected content (courses and learning paths).
- New students this Student Manager invites to the academy will be automatically added to this group.

Enable or disable the Student Manager's ability to add new students to the academy
- When disabled, the Student Manager will not see the Add Students button on their Manage Students page.

Select the content (courses and learning paths) you want the Student Manager to be able to assign to other students.
- You can select all courses, all learning paths, or a limited subset of either for the Student Manager to assign.
- This assignment access is separate from their own visibility settings as a student.
- Regardless of selections, Student Managers will only be able to see and enroll students in content published to the academy they are currently managing students in.
- Note: Similar to the Manage Students functionality in the dashboard, enrolling students in content via a Student Manager will bypass any paywalls or monetization currently in place. Do not give access to content that you are not comfortable with payment being skipped for.
- When you’re finished, select Save or Save and Continue Editing.

Accessing Your Manage Students Page
To get to the Manage Students page, select the Manage Students option from the profile dropdown menu.
Enrolling Students in Content
As a Student Manager, you have the ability to enroll your group of students in select content. To enroll a student in content:
- Select the + symbol next to their email address.
- Select all content items you would like to enroll the student in.
- Select "Enroll" to finish.
- Enrollment emails will be sent in accordance with any enrollment Actions assigned to the course or learning path. Contact your academy administrator for more details
Adding New Students to the Academy
Note: This function may not be available based on your academy administrator's settings. Please contact them for more details.
As a Student Manager, you may be able to invite new students to the academy while enrolling them in content. To add new students:
- Select the "Add Students" button at the top of the page.
- Enter the email(s) you would like to invite, one per line.
- Select the content you would like to enroll the student(s) in.
- Select "Add Students and Enroll" to finish.
Viewing Your Students' Enrollments
As a Student Manager, you can view which courses and learning paths your students are enrolled in, as well as their completion status. To view a student's enrollments, select the student name from the Manage Students table.
Note: You will only be able to see enrollments in content that you are able to assign. Students may have additional enrollments in other content.

- Will students who get enrolled in courses by Student Managers receive enrollment emails?
- Yes, student enrollment actions will function the same way as if you enrolled them in the dashboard.
- Can a Student Manager be a manager of multiple groups?
- Currently Student Managers can only manage 1 group.
- Will I be able to bulk assign users in my group a set of courses?
- Yes, to bulk enroll users in courses, use the Add Students menu. Any current students will be enrolled in the selected courses, while non-students will also be sent an academy invitation.
- Can any Skilljar admin assign Student Managers?
- Global Admins assign Student Managers. Learn more about Skilljar dashboard roles and permissions.
- What student analytics are Student Managers able to view?
- Student Manager can view what content students are enrolled in (filtered by what the Student Manager can assign), the completion status of the content, and the content’s due dates.
- What if Student Managers want more analytics on the students they manage?
- Skilljar admins can schedule custom reports to be sent to Student Managers, allowing them to tailor the data to best meet the Student Managers' specific needs.
- Can we give Student Manager access via API or SSO?
- Not currently, but this is on our shortlist of improvements
