You can register students in Live Training events automatically so that the students can browse course offerings, purchase live training event seats, and launch virtual meetings more seamlessly.
You can automatically register students for Live Training events (ILT or instructor-led training) when you set up a single course such that the course structure is:
- 1 course that has 1 ILT lesson with 1 ILT event per lesson, or
- 1 course that has 2 or more ILT lessons with 1 ILT event per lesson.
Note: Students will not automatically be registered in Live Training events if a course has multiple ILT events in a Live Training lesson.

Set up your course structure for automatic Live Training registration:
For automatic Live Training registration to apply to a course, the courses must have only one ILT event per lesson, such that the course structure could be:
- 1 course that has 1 ILT lesson with 1 ILT event per lesson, or
- 1 course that has 2 or more ILT lessons with 1 ILT event per lesson.
The below images display the options for the course structure and the student experience. Learn more: Managing Live Training Events
Enable or disable automatic single event Live Training registration:
- From the “Course Management” dropdown in the Dashboard left navigation bar, click “Courses.”
- In the “Courses” table, click the course title for the course with the ILT lesson(s) you want to edit.
- Click the “Details” tab and scroll to the “Settings” section.
- Click the plus (+) sign to expand “Settings” and scroll to the “Registration Actions” section.
- Select or deselect the setting “Register in Single Event Live Training Lessons.”
- When the setting is selected, if the course has a single event Live Training lesson(s), students will be automatically registered in any single event Live Training lessons when they register for the course.
- When the setting is not selected, if the course has a single event Live Training lesson(s), students will not be automatically registered in any single event Live Training lessons when they register for the course.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Note: The “Register in Single Event Live Training Lessons” will not be selected upon course creation, and thus is not enforced, by default.
Note: When both the “Enforce Event Registration for Live Training Lessons” setting and the “Register in Single Event Live Training Lessons’ settings are enabled and the course/lesson/event structure aligns with one of the two cases below, the enforced event registration/selection step will be bypassed:
-
1 course / 1 ILT lesson / 1 ILT event per lesson structure
-
1 course / 2 or more ILT lessons / 1 ILT event per lesson structure
It is common for these settings to be used in tandem. Students will be automatically registered for the single ILT events and prompted to select the preferred ILT event when there are multiple ILT events in a lesson.

Frequently asked questions:
What happens when both settings related to Live Training registration are selected?
When both the “Enforce Event Registration for Live Training Lessons” setting and the “Register in Single Event Live Training Lessons’ settings are enabled and the course/lesson/event structure aligns with one of the two cases below, the enforced event registration/selection step will be bypassed:
- 1 course / 1 ILT lesson / 1 ILT event per lesson structure
- 1 course / 2 or more ILT lessons / 1 ILT event per lesson structure
It is common for these settings to be used in tandem. Students will be automatically registered for the single ILT events and prompted to select the preferred ILT event when there are multiple ILT events in a lesson.
Is the “Register in Single Event Live Training” setting compatible with registering students via the “Manage Students” page of the dashboard?
If this setting is enabled for a course and you register a student for that course via “Manage Students,” that student is automatically registered for the course and thus is not required to select events in order to complete their registration.
